Participation by executives from EDA companies at the upcoming Globalpress Summit is already up to 4 vendors.
That’s a 100% increase over last year, when we had only 2 announcements by Mentor Graphics and Tanner EDA. These great companies will return this year to be joined by Apache Design Solutions, EVE and several other vendors in the EDA space who are still looking at the opportunity to meet the global media in Santa Cruz April 26 – 29. Gabe Moretti of GABEonEDA heard that our event is the place to go for industry news.
Why the increase in participation from leading companies in the EDA industry? This once-a-year gathering is the perfect platform to launch products, introduce new management or set the stage for young companies on Emerging Day.
John Blyler, editorial director for Extensionmedia (which includes Chip Design and Embedded Intel magazines), has attended the Globalpress Summit for many years. He notes that companies continue to look for ways to engage the global editorial community – in addition to the US press.
Meeting with editors from all over the world is crucial since today’s EDA and semiconductor development environment are equally global. Further, a unifying theme among the global ecosystem is the need for system-level design and manufacturing solutions. This need is reflected in the current direction of the major EDA vendors, explains Blyler.
“The rise of embedded systems – both in SoCs and PCBs – coupled with lower power requirements, shrinking time-to-market windows and tighter revenue margins mean that EDA vendors must offer more than traditional tool flows,” he says. “To be competitive they need to provide everything from tools, to IP, integrated software stacks, RTOSes and even applications.”
A systems approach benefits EDA companies in another way. Such companies can now successfully participate in vertical electronic markets – such as medical, industrial, automotive and others.
Something good is happening in EDA – and it shows at the Globalpress Summit.
Every body remembers that life is not very cheap, however we need money for different stuff and not every man gets enough money. So to receive some business loans or just secured loan would be a right way out.

So yes there is more change to come in my life, more routines that need to be created. NO NO NO, not the Parliament lights but instead school and a new desire to SUCK IT UP and make it through this entry level position that I arrive at before the crack of dawn so that I can leave as the sun is setting. (yes another habit and work ethic problem I have)
Yes this only child is drowning in change, when all I really want is a Sunday on a couch with some bad tv and maybe 4 or 5 hours of sleep.
Wish me luck, and keep ya posted ....

From this day onward I will walk
easy on the earth. Plant trees. Kill
no living things. Live in harmony with
all creatures. i will restore the earth
where I am. Use no more of its resources
than I need. And listen, listen to what
it is telling me.

For example, what exactly is the good response to a horrible financial setback? On this scenario would it be the good response to copout and runaway? Escape by means of alcohol, drug, or suicide? No! This kind of negative reactions only create better problems by promising a momentary remedy to your pressing issue.

Good journalism is, first and foremost, about reporting, not making product pitches or solutions delivery examples sound better. Focus on the issues your customers, partners, and employees care about and then go do some digging to cover and analyze what's really happening. Talk to the experts, interview customers and your own employees, crunch some data...be a real resource for news you can use.

As I write this our Egyptian Air flight is passing south of Barrington en route to Cairo. I'd flown up to JFK, which had a nicer terminal than I expected and an unusual system of check-in desks at terminal four that seemed geared handling large numbers of passengers and easy reassignment of airline slots. As expected, I had to leave and re-enter through security which seems unnecessary but I did enjoy riding the air train between the terminals.
